7 Bangladeshi expatriates injured in Qatar crane accident; Secretary General expresses concerns

Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 18th May, 2017 expressing deep concern as 7 Bangladeshi citizens became reportedly injured in a crane accident that took place on the Pearl-Qatar Island near Doha, the capital of Qatar.

“The Bangladeshi expatriates, who are working in Qatar, playing a tremendous role for the development of the nation. They are maintaining their families in Bangladesh by sending remittance and making positive impacts on national economy. They are also glorifying the image of Bangladesh and simultaneously gaining reputations for the country with their sincerity and hard work.

A source of the Bangladeshi embassy in Qatar revealed that, off the 7 injured, 4 Bangladeshi expatriates are undergoing treatment in hospitals. I am praying to Almighty Allah for their quick recovery and extending deep sympathy to their families and relatives.”
