Mia Ghulam Parwar urges authority to resolve ongoing city transportation crisis

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar has issued the following statement on 19th April, 2017 expressing deep concern over the ongoing anarchic situation in the mass transportation in Dhaka.

“The transportation crisis has turned into severe as the authority stopped the seating and gate-lock services in the mass transportation arrangement. The crisis has not been resolved in last couple of days.

More than one and half crores of people are living in Dhaka now. The city dwellers are facing big troubles due to transport crisis. Particularly the women are experiencing terrible sufferings. Paying no heed to the mass crisis, the government is making fun of it. The anarchic situation has been created in the mass transportation system because of the indifferent role of the government. The present government does not bother at the mass sufferings as they are not elected by the people.

The city dwellers are blaming Road transportation and Bridge Affairs Minister Obaidul Quader for this deadlock in the city transportation. He cannot deny his liabilities by any means. He has severely failed to resolve the ongoing crisis in the city transportation management.

Obaidul Quader said, the owners of the public transports are very influential. The nation wants to know who these are influential. Are they belonging to the ruling party? Whoever they are, their names should be made public and the concerned authority must take legal actions against them.

I am urging the concerned minister and his ministry to undertake effective measures immediately to resolve the ongoing transportation crisis for the sake of the city dwellers.”
