Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Secretary General Dr Shafiqur Rahman has expressed deep concern over ongoing stalemate at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
In a statement on Saturday, he said expressed the deep anxiety over the ongoing crisis at the country’s reputed technical university that has been playing due role in the developing and building the nation.
Dr Shafiqur Rahman said all of the people including guardians of the students became tensed over the ongoing stalemate.
The deadlock is the result of partisanship at the university by the incumbent government, he said, adding that the government’s adamancy is mainly responsible for the crisis.
Vice chancellor and pro-vice chancellor have been playing their dictatorship rule at the university in support of the government, he said.
Shafiqur Rahman said that the government should restore the heredity of the university through paying homage to the demand of agitating teachers, students and employees of BUET.
He urged the government to save the country’s prominent and largest technical university.
