Jamaat protests arrest of Shamim Sayedee, son of Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee

Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Ameer Makbul Ahmad has strongly condemned and protested police arrest of Shamim Sayedee, son of world renowned Islamic scholar and Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee, from Uttara on Monday.
The Jamaat chief in a statement on the day said Maulana Delwar Hossain Sayedee after his arrest has lost his beloved mother and elder son Rafiq Bin Sayedee. Now, the government unlawfully arrested another son of Malulana Sayedee.
Torture of the government on the family members of Maulana Sayedee crossed all limits, the Jamaat chief said, adding that the government is hatching conspiracy to destroy Maulana Sayedee and his family.
Country’s people especially the society of Islamic scholars became very upset by the unlawful arrest of Shamim Sayedee.
By such torture and repression on the Islamic scholar like Maulana Sayedee, the government further proved and acquainted itself as the enemy of Islam and the Ulamaye Keram.
He called upon the countrymen irrespective of party and belief to strongly protest and raise their voices against the government’s repression and torture.
He also demanded immediate release of all detained Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists along with Shamim Sayedee.
