Police attack on Jamaat peaceful processions, demo and arrest of over 100 activists protested

Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has strongly protested and condemned police attack on the party’s peaceful movement and arrest of more than one hundred leaders and activists.
Protesting the arrest and torture, the Jamaat leader in a statement said that police Wednesday attacked on the party’s peaceful demonstration across the country, leaving more than one hundred injured including Jamaat city unit secretary general Nurul Islam Bulbul and another same quantity were arrested.
Demanding closure of so called war crimes trial, release of the party’s detained leaders including its female wing activists, restoration of caretaker government system, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami organized the countrywide protest programme.
He said that attacking on the party’s peaceful and democratic movement, the government has violated the country’s constitution.
The leader said that after disclosing of Skype scandal the war crimes trial lost its credibility.
The Jamaat leader said that the country’s people have united against the conspiracy in the name of trial of crimes against humanity.
He said the failed government has been trying to prolong its tenure by using state-owned law enforcement agencies.
