Maqbul Ahmad addresses a discussion on the significance of Jakat

Jakat based society to be established to eradicate poverties

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmad stated that, it is not possible to implement the directives of Islam appropriately without the establishment of Islamic state. He further said, establishing Islamic state is the precondition of a welfare state. It is also necessary to lessen poverties. Quoting this, Jamaat Ameer urged everybody to work comprehensively to collect Jakat from the solvent quarters and subsequently for distributing the collected money among the classes and communities which have been prescribed in Islam.
